Do I need to be home when you deliver/pickup the hot tub? Yes, you will need to be home to meet us. We are flexible with delivery times, so we can work around your schdedule. We will need to know where you want the hot tub to be placed, plus you will need to sign paperwork and pay for the rental. We will also show you how to operate the hot tub. When we return to pick it up, you may not need to be there, as long as we can get to the electrical outlet. We will discuss this with you when we deliver the hot tub. This also a time that you can ask us questions about the hot tub. How many people can be in a hot tub at one time? Well, that depends on the hot tub and the size of the people in them. Our round hot tub seats up to 4 average adults and square hot tub seats up to 6 average adults. What comes with the hot tub? 1. A snap-locking cover 2. A set of steps 3. Chemicals to set-up and maintain the hot tub 4. Any needed power cords 5. A lesson in hot tub safety Is the cover easy to remove? Yes! All hot tubs have an easy to remove cover. Please do not let people sit on the covers or place items on top of them. They are made of Styrofoam and can be damaged easily. A replacement will cost you around $200. How much will the hot tub add to my electric bill? Based on normal usage with a 110 volt electrical connection, it will cost you about $1 a day. Cheap, huh? Does it get wet around the hot tub? Yes. It’s not from the jets, but from people splashing or getting in and out in the hot tub. What type of power connection do I need? The hot tubs use a 110 volt standard electrical (3 prong) outlet. The outlet must be properly grounded and be within 10 feet of the hot tub location. This outlet should not have any other appliances or other items plugged in it. Keep in mind…..Water is an excellent conductor of electricity. Electrical shock or electrocution can occur in a hot tub if live electrical current (including current from a telephone) comes into contact with the water. If your hot tub is outdoors, stay out of it during lightening or rainstorms because of the possibility of electrocution from lightening hitting the water. How much room does the hot tub need? The hot tubs need a minimum of 36 inches wide through any gate or other opening. You will need an area about 6'x6' to place the hot tub. A patio works best. Are hot tubs really safe? Yes, if used correctly! However, persons taking medications and those with physical ailments, including heart or blood pressure problems, diabetes, serious illness, and pregnant women should see the advice of their doctor before using a hot tub. Soaking for extended periods of time at too high a temperature can elevate the body temperature and the temperature of the internal organs past safety limits. Never use a hot tub after using narcotics or other drugs that may cause sleepiness, drowsiness, or raise or lower blood pressure. With any drug or medication, consult your doctor about the potential harmful effects from combined drug use and hot water soaking. Can children get in a hot tub? Children should be supervised by an adult at all times while using the hot tub. EXTREME CAUTON must be exercised to prevent unauthorized access by unsupervised children. Never allow children to use the hot tub unsupervised. If children will be using the hot tub, explain to them that they cannot, under any circumstances, dive or jump into the hot tub. While a hot tub may seem large and deep to a child, it is not designed for jumping or diving. Discretion is advised in allowing children to use hot tubs at all, since their young bodies may not adjust well to the high temperatures. Is it ok to drink alcohol while in a hot tub? Alcoholic beverages or drugs should not be consumed while using the hot tub. BE AWARE that the use of alcoholic beverages or drugs before or during hot tub use may lead to unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning, heart attack, or injury due to passing out or falling. When is the best time to use a hot tub? Hot tubs are designed to be used year round. Each season has its own benefits. During the summer months, you can keep the temperatures in the 90's and use the hot tub to cool off. In the winter there is nothing like sitting in a hot tub when it’s snowing outside! We have used our personal hot tub when it has been zero outside. You are not cold once in the water, but your hair tends to get a bit crunchy and stiff--ok a bit frozen! My personal favorite is when the night temps are 50-60 degrees. It’s also nice to gaze up at the stars at night while soaking. Can you find the Big Dipper? What does it cost to rent a hot tub? Costs vary depending on the tub you rent and how many days you want it. Please review our "Rates" page to choose whats best for you! Ready to reserve? Fill out our "Reservation" form now. Shorter or longer times can also be arranged. Just ask us. I’ve got a skin or body infection. Can I use a hot tub? Do you want to keep your friends? Sorry, but until your infection is cleared up, no hot tub. Your friends do not want your infection. How hot can I have the water in a hot tub? Water temperature should not exceed 102-104 degrees F. Most people like to have the water temperature between 100-102o. The cooler the water, the longer you can stay in. Higher temperatures may place a strain on the cardio-vascular system. Soaking too long can make people light headed or faint. Never soak for more than 15-20 minutes per hot tub visit or if you feel very hot. Leave the hot tub; cool your body temperature down then slowly return for another usage. Our hot tubs are designed to shut off if the temperature reaches 104o. All you need to do is add some water to cool it down. Can I put bubble bath or oils in the hot tub? Sorry. We do not allow either of these. They will clog the filter and it will not clean correctly. Does the hot tub have a strong “chlorine” smell? Nope, not at all! We do not use chlorine. We use bromine to disinfect the water. It’s like chlorine but does not have such a strong smell, plus it does not fade swimsuits like chlorine. We also have a variety of spa fragrance to add a soothing aroma to your hot tub experience. I live in an apartment building, am I able to rent a hot tub? Well, that depends on if your landlord will allow you to put it outside your apartment or not. Remember, we can't set a hot tub on a balcony, and it has to be plugged in at all times. You should check with your landlord before renting a hot tub. |
